As the core category of general mechanical components, carbon steel galvanized round-head screws, with their cost advantages and reliable anti-corrosion properties, are widely used in fields such as construction, power, and automobiles. Recently, influenced by policy guidance, technological innovation, and changes in the global trade landscape, the industry is undergoing structural adjustments and showing a trend of high-end, green, and diversified development.
At the policy level, the "dual carbon" goals and environmental protection regulations continue to reshape the industry ecosystem. The "Guidelines for Carbon Footprint Accounting of Bolts" to be implemented in 2026 will eliminate 15%-20% of high-energy-consuming and backward production capacity, forcing enterprises to upgrade their production processes. Among them, the carbon steel galvanizing process, as the focus of environmental protection supervision, traditional high-pollution production enterprises face pressure for rectification, while enterprises adopting green technologies such as no-white-smoke coating agents and waste zinc recycling utilization can seize market share by virtue of compliance advantages. At the same time, the EU's carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM) is about to be implemented, and the cost of products exported to the EU is expected to increase by 5%-10%, driving enterprises to optimize their global production capacity layout.
In the field of technology, the entire process of hot-dip galvanizing has been upgraded to become the core for quality improvement. To address industry pain points such as insufficient adhesion of the galvanized layer and hydrogen embrittlement, the enterprise has overcome the bottlenecks through a triple optimization plan: in the pre-treatment stage, a composite degreasing agent combined with quartz sand physical friction is used to efficiently remove surface oil and phosphating film; in the post-coating stage, an anti-white smoke coating agent system is applied, precisely controlling the concentrations of zinc chloride, potassium chloride and pH value, to enhance the adhesion of the coating; in the cooling stage, the duration of air cooling and water temperature are strictly controlled to avoid oxidation and detachment of the zinc layer. After optimization, the adhesion strength of the galvanized layer meets the DL/T284-2020 standard, and can meet the service requirements of 40-50 years for power towers.
The market pattern exhibits the characteristics of "dual polarization" and "regional transfer". In the high-end market, there is a strong demand for 10.9 grade and above high-strength carbon steel galvanized round-head screws. Their demand has grown significantly in the fields of wind power and new energy vehicles. By 2025, the demand for offshore wind bolts has exceeded 150,000 tons. Leading enterprises such as Jin Yi Industry have invested 360 million yuan to build a digital factory. Intelligent production has increased the capacity utilization rate to over 85%. The low-end market is facing pressure of overcapacity. By 2025, the capacity utilization rate may decline to 68%. Small and medium-sized enterprises are accelerating their relocation to the central and western regions, forming regional production bases relying on the Chengdu-Chongqing and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River urban agglomerations.
In terms of international trade, the export market has undergone structural adjustments. Due to the preliminary anti-dumping ruling by the EU, categories such as headless screws are subject to temporary anti-dumping duties ranging from 62.3% to 80.7%. Companies have shifted their focus to the markets of RCEP member countries, with the annual growth rate of demand in emerging markets like Vietnam and Indonesia remaining above 12%. At the same time, the demand for infrastructure construction in countries along the Belt and Road Initiative has surged. The export volume of screws from Xinjiang to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan increased by 57.4% and 88.6% respectively year-on-year, becoming a new growth pole for exports.
In the future, the focus of industry competition will be on carbon footprint management, advanced technology research and development, and global expansion. Enterprises need to accelerate the application of technologies such as digital twins and AI quality inspection, and at the same time establish green supply chains, in order to achieve sustainable development under policy constraints and market competition.
