China Coal Transport And Distribution Association: Strengthen Industry Self-discipline, Rectify The Vicious Competition, And Promote The Balance Of Supply And Demand in The Coal Market

On July 10, 2025, the China Coal Transport and Distribution Association organized and held the second (enlarged) meeting of the fifth council and a symposium on the analysis of the coal economic operation in the first half of the year in Ordos, Inner Mongolia. The meeting emphasized that the internal and external development environment of the industry is changing rapidly at present. Coal enterprises should fully recognize the severity and complexity of the mismatch and imbalance in the supply and demand situation of coal, strictly implement the medium and long-term contract system for thermal coal, strengthen the classification and assessment management of users, improve the binding measures for contract dishonesty, promote the performance and fulfillment of contracts, and maintain the seriousness of the medium and long-term contract system for thermal coal. We must hold the bottom line of safety and stability, scientifically control the production rhythm, improve the quality of coal supply, strengthen industry self-discipline, rectify the vicious competition, and promote the balance between supply and demand in the coal market.
