The Shanghai Securities News - China Securities Network: Sheng Laiyun, deputy director of the National Bureau of Statistics, said at a press conference held by the Information Office of The State Council on the 15th that prices would moderately rise from a low level in the second half of the year. There are several supporting factors: First, the economy maintains a stable and positive trend, with total demand continuously expanding, laying a macro foundation for the stable operation of prices. Second, relevant policies, especially those aimed at expanding domestic demand, will continue to take effect, which will boost related consumer demand and strongly promote the stable recovery of consumer goods prices. Third, relevant central meetings have called for the governance of disorderly low-price competition among enterprises in accordance with laws and regulations, which is conducive to regulating market order and improving the market environment. Recently, the photovoltaic, cement and automotive industry associations have respectively taken self-regulatory actions, which will have a positive impact on the prices in the relevant fields. Fourth, the holiday effect is still emerging, which will promote the stability or upward movement of related service prices. The fifth factor is technical. In the second half of the year, the carry-over effect on both CPI and PPI will weaken, and the downward pull on CPI and PPI will diminish.

From these perspectives, we judge that the price will remain at a low level and show a moderate upward trend. Sheng Laiyun said.
