In the fourth quarter of 2025, the galvanized cattle pen net industry will enjoy dual benefits of policy regulation and technological innovation. With the latest release of the National standard plan for "Galvanized Steel Wire for Mesh Fences" by the National Technical Committee for Steel Standardization, the quality threshold of the industry has been further raised. Coupled with the technological breakthroughs made by enterprises in the fields of anti-corrosion and intelligence, galvanized cattle pen nets are transforming from traditional breeding consumables to high-value-added products.

On October 31st, the national standard plan for "Galvanized Steel Wire for Net Fences" with the number 20255912-T-605 was officially issued. It was drafted by leading enterprises such as Tianjin Huayuan Wire Products Co., Ltd. and will refer to the ISO 7900:2006 international standard to refine technical requirements. The formulation of this standard fills the previous ambiguity in the industry regarding indicators such as the thickness of galvanized coatings and impact resistance. It is expected to be completed and implemented within 12 months, effectively curbing the circulation of inferior products.

Under the impetus of policies, the technological upgrading of enterprises is accelerating. The new generation of galvanized cattle pen net launched by enterprises such as Hebei Sishun is made of 8mm thickened Q235 low-carbon steel wire and chromium-free passivation hot-dip galvanizing process. It has passed the 1200-hour salt spray test without obvious rust, and its corrosion resistance is three times that of ordinary products. The actual measurement data of Director Zhang from Chengde, Hebei Province, shows that the maintenance cost of this type of fence after half a year of use is only 12% of that of traditional products, and it can save more than 20,000 yuan in costs per year.

Intelligence has become a new growth point in the industry. Some enterprises have launched Internet of Things (iot) versions of cattle pen nets with built-in vibration sensors, which can provide real-time warnings of abnormal collisions through mobile phone apps. In the pilot project of smart pastures in Yili, Xinjiang, the time for detecting fence damage has been shortened from 24 hours to 1 hour, and the risk of escape at night has been reduced by 90%. Meanwhile, customized solutions for different scenarios have emerged. The dedicated network for pastoral areas can withstand a severe cold of -40℃, and the rusting rate of products in high-humidity areas in the south within three years is only 5%.

The export market shows structural growth. According to global trade data, from May 2024 to April 2025, China's exports of galvanized mesh reached 599 batches, firmly holding the position of the world's second-largest exporter. Among them, the demand for high-specification products that meet the prototype of the new national standard has soared in markets such as Italy and Pakistan. The export volume in April alone increased by 17% year-on-year.

Industry experts point out that after the implementation of the new standards, galvanized cattle pen nets will form a pattern of "high quality and high price". It is recommended that breeding enterprises give priority to products that have passed salt spray tests and impact tests. Meanwhile, enterprises need to accelerate the upgrading of environmental protection processes. Currently, enterprises like Sishun have achieved 100% reuse of production wastewater, setting a benchmark for the industry. With the implementation of standards and technological iterations, the galvanized cattle pen net industry will enter a new stage of dual improvement in quality and efficiency.
