The Steel Industry Is Accelerating Its Transformation Towards Intelligence And Greenness, With A Continuous Stream Of Innovative Achievements.

Recently, at the 14th China International Steel Industry Conference, the intelligent and green transformation of the steel industry became a key topic. With the rapid development of technology, the steel industry is actively embracing change and achieving high-quality development through innovation-driven approaches.
In the field of intelligence, steel enterprises are vigorously promoting digital transformation. Currently, 95.1% of steel enterprises in China have incorporated digital transformation strategies into their overall development plans and are continuously implementing digital and intelligent upgrades. For instance, the city of Jian'an has taken AI large models as a breakthrough point, splitting out 142 steel production AI application scenarios, and leading enterprises have achieved the implementation of 45 models. Hebei Xinda Steel independently developed an intelligent combustion system for hot blast stoves, which uses AI to dynamically adjust the furnace temperature, enabling "experience-based steelmaking" to move towards "digital steelmaking", saving over 10 million yuan annually. Moreover, the AI large model platform of Shougang has been launched and is helping enterprises improve production efficiency and management levels. At the same time, the formulation of "AI + Steel" related standards is also accelerating, and China has initiated the development of multiple large model standards and application scenarios.
The green development has also achieved remarkable results. China has set extremely strict ultra-low emission limit requirements, with some indicators being about 10 times stricter than the average of developed economies. As of July this year, 197 steel enterprises have completed the public announcement of ultra-low emission renovations for the entire process or certain sections, and the entire process ultra-low emission renovations have been completed for 600 million tons of crude steel capacity across the country, and 350 million tons of crude steel capacity has completed key project renovations. In terms of technological innovation, many enterprises are actively exploring low-carbon technologies. China Metallurgical Group has launched an "integration solution for hydrogen energy - storage - load - use" industrial chain solution centered around hydrogen energy, helping the steel industry achieve green and low-carbon transformation; China Steel Research Institute has developed key technologies such as efficient and low-cost electric furnace smelting and green intelligent production, promoting the development of electric furnace steelmaking technology. In addition, China's published China Low-Carbon Emission Steel Evaluation Standard has been recognized by multiple international professional organizations.
The steel industry is continuously advancing on the path of intelligence and green development, not only enhancing its own competitiveness, but also providing China's solutions and experience for the sustainable development of the global steel industry. In the future, the steel industry is expected to create more brilliance under the guidance of new quality productive forces.
