Different metal materials and required properties determine the specific parameters during annealing. Taking common low-carbon steel annealing wire as an example, it is usually made from steel with an extremely low carbon content (0.06%-0.15%), such as Q195 steel, to ensure the maximum extensibility after annealing. The raw materials need to be acid-washed with hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid to remove surface oxide scales and oil stains. Then, cold drawing processing may be carried out, reducing the wire diameter through the drawing mold and improving the surface smoothness. During the annealing process, the temperature is usually controlled at 600-750℃, and the holding time is adjusted according to the wire diameter. For example, a 1mm wire diameter requires about 30 minutes. After annealing, natural cooling is generally used. During this process, if the temperature is too high or too low, or if the heating and cooling time is too short or too long, it will affect the quality of the annealing wire.
Annealing wire has an extremely wide range of applications. In the construction industry, it is often used to bind reinforcing bars and other construction materials. Due to its good flexibility, it facilitates construction operations and its strong properties ensure the stability of the building structure. In the field of handicraft production, it can be bent into various exquisite shapes to meet creative needs. In daily household items, such as simple clothes hangers and storage baskets, it can also be found.
When selecting annealed wire, its quality can be judged from multiple aspects. First, observe the appearance. The surface should be smooth, without scratches or rust spots, and the color should be uniform. Then, conduct a bending test. Good annealed wire has good flexibility and can be bent repeatedly without breaking, and it has elasticity. You can also test its strength. Through tensile tests and hardness tests, it can withstand greater tension and is more difficult to be cut. Additionally, understanding the material composition and knowing whether it has undergone a reasonable annealing process can also help in judging the quality. After all, a reasonable annealing process can reduce hardness and improve flexibility.
