Wire mesh is a net-like product made by weaving or welding iron wires. It plays an important role in various fields. Its history can be traced back to the 19th century, initially used for military defense and border control. With the development of industry, it gradually entered the civilian sector. Nowadays, wire mesh is widely used in many industries such as construction, agriculture, transportation, and security protection.
Product types are diverse
From the perspective of production processes, wire mesh can be classified into woven type, spot-welded type, cut-and-shear type, and stamping type. Common products include galvanized wire mesh, plastic-coated wire mesh, electric welded wire mesh, and hooked wire mesh.
Production process is rigorous
The production of wire mesh is crucially dependent on the quality of raw materials, namely iron wires. They must be strictly selected to ensure uniform diameter, smooth surface, and no rust. Subsequently, according to different types of wire mesh, corresponding processing techniques are adopted. Woven wire mesh is formed by interweaving iron wires according to specific patterns using weaving equipment, creating uniform mesh holes; spot-welded type is fixed by welding at the intersection points of iron wires using welding equipment. During the processing, equipment parameters are strictly controlled to ensure that the mesh size and wire diameter meet standards. After production, quality inspection is carried out, such as checking the flatness of the mesh surface, the firmness of the welding points, and the deviation of the wire diameter, to ensure product quality compliance.
Widely applied in various fields
In the construction industry, wire mesh is used for construction site fences and protective nets to ensure construction safety, and it can also play a reinforcing role in building structures, improving building stability; in agriculture, it serves as livestock pens and garden nets, protecting crops from animal damage and delineating breeding areas; in the transportation industry, the protective nets along highways and railways are mostly wire mesh, preventing pedestrians and animals from entering and ensuring traffic safety; in the security field, wire mesh is commonly used in prisons and warehouses, combined with barbed wire to increase security levels, effectively blocking illegal intrusions.
The industry trend is positive
At present, with the advancement of materials science and technology, the wire mesh industry is developing towards higher quality, more environmental protection, and more intelligent. On one hand, new materials and coating technologies are being developed to further enhance the durability and corrosion resistance of wire mesh; on the other hand, environmentally friendly wire mesh made of degradable and recyclable materials is gradually attracting attention and application. In addition, intelligent wire mesh systems integrated with Internet of Things technology have also begun to emerge, capable of realizing remote monitoring, intrusion alarm and other functions, providing more convenience and security for various industries' security protection.
